Hi Tara, I've been reading your blog, and it's really exciting to follow what you're doing in South Africa. I work at the FXB offices in NYC and I'd love learn more about your project and experiences thus far. Please get in touch!! kmalarkey@fxb.org
In 2005, students in my World Cultures' Classes at Oakland High School began corresponding with students in Uganda and South Africa through thematic written, art and video exchanges. The purpose of these exchanges were to foster cultural understanding and to raise awareness about HIV & AIDS - in Africa and in our local communities.
I'm here in South Africa on a teacher fellowship to build on this partnership, to connect and to learn and grow.
Thank you, Fund For Teachers, for making this travel opportunity possible!
